Building reliable obedience through structure
This option is ideal for:

Household behavior challenges
Private coaching emphasizes owner education, so progress continues between sessions.
Canine Behavior Change (Board & Train)
Our Canine Behavior Immersion Programs are designed for dogs who need intensive structure, behavior modification, and real-world reliability.
Dogs live in a structured environment where we focus on:
-
Emotional regulation
-
Calm behavior under stress
-
Obedience layered onto stability
-
Environmental exposure and generalization
This program is ideal for:

Anxiety or fear-based behaviors
-
Reactivity to dogs or people
-
High arousal or impulsivity
-
Lack of structure at home
-
Owners needing a full reset
Every Board & Train includes a guided owner transfer process, ensuring results carry over once your dog returns home.
Programs are customized following an in-person evaluation.
IN-PERSON TRAINING EVALUATION
All training at K9 Learning Academy begins with an in-person evaluation at our training center.
Evaluations allow us to:
-
Observe behavior, body language, and stress responses in a structured environment
-
Assess how your dog processes distractions and transitions
-
Understand your goals and lifestyle
-
Identify root causes of behavior, not just surface symptoms
-
Recommend the most effective training path with clarity and purpose
Behavior cannot be accurately assessed without observation. Starting in a controlled, neutral environment ensures recommendations are ethical, appropriate, and effective.
Evaluations are the foundation of successful training and allow us to design a plan that supports both the dog and the owner long-term.
BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION
Addressing the Root Cause — Not Just the Symptoms
At K9 Learning Academy, behavior modification is not about forcing compliance or teaching commands in isolation. It is about understanding why a behavior exists, what emotional state is driving it, and how to create lasting change through science-based behavioral psychology.
Many problem behaviors—reactivity, anxiety, aggression, fear, or impulsivity—are not training issues. They are emotional and neurological responses shaped by genetics, environment, learning history, and stress.
That’s where behavior modification differs from traditional dog training.
